The practice of offering Mass for particular intentions dates back to the early Church.
When a priest celebrates Mass each day, he offers each celebration of the Eucharist for a particular person, living or deceased, or a special intention. By doing so he applies special graces from God upon that person or intention.
In the same way we pray for others, the Church is able to intercede for us through the celebration of the Mass. Since the Eucharist is the “source and summit of the Christian life” the Mass possesses a power that our personal prayers do not.
To request a Mass Intention please contact the Parish Office.
The suggested offering is $10.
CATECHISM, PARAGRAPH 1414:
As sacrifice, the Eucharist is also offered in reparation for the sins of the living and the dead and to obtain spiritual or temporal benefits from God.
