To the St. Ferdinand Parish Family,
It is a great privilege to serve you this academic year as your parish seminarian. My name is Scott Scheiderer, and I am originally from the state of Colorado. I moved out to the St. Louis area five years ago to pursue my Masters in Social Work at Saint Louis University. When I initially came out to the St. Louis area, I was in the beginning stages of a “reversion” back to the Catholic faith, and as I progressed in my studies, I began to open myself up to the possibility that maybe God was calling me to the priesthood. Thus, shortly after graduating from SLU, with the vocational call ever-present in my mind, I put in my application for Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, and the following fall, I entered the seminary as a Pre-Theology student.
This fall marks my third year of seminary formation and my first year of theological studies (the previous two years consisted of philosophical studies). I am studying to be a priest of the St. Louis Archdiocese, so, God-willing, I will be here to serve you in the near future as an ordained minister. Please keep me in your prayers as I continue in formation and be assured of my continued prayers for you. God bless you!
Devotedly Yours In Christ,
